Press Release
Mr Eugene Yu, CEO of Konnech Inc, which makes PollChief software, was arrested October 4, 2022, in connection with the alleged theft of personal data of Los Angeles County election workers. PollChief software is used to manage pollworkers’ information and workflow. The alleged theft was originally discovered by Truethevote.org, an election integrity group in Texas, which stated that they found American pollworker data on a Chinese server.
Three Indiana counties use PollChief software: Allen, Marion, and Lake Counties. In Konnech’s 7/22/2021 contract with Lake County, it states in Section 9, “Konnech understands that voter registration rolls are confidential and . . . these records will not be used for any other purpose than those specified in this agreement.” The contract with Lake County also states in Exhibit C, “Konnech uses the Lansing Metro Data Center . . . and redundant backup at the Server Farm within a 5-mile radius of Konnech’s world headquarters,” both in Michigan.
Mr Yu, as any American citizen, is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Indiana First Action respectfully asks all Indiana election officials and Law Enforcement officials to investigate if any Hoosiers’ personal data was compromised.
